Warm and cozy mittens are a heartwarming present for the holidays. Send them with a watercolor painting card!

Pigment List
All paints I use are M. Graham transparent watercolors, except white gouache. Other brands I recommend are Daniel Smith and Schminke.

1. Start with maroon perylene in a rough sketch of the shadow areas.

2. Drop in some quinacridone red to brighten it up. Splatter paint with pthalo green and both reds. Let it dry.

3. Scribble some with pen and ink. Don't outline everything, just a bit.

Isn't this a fun one? In a really loose sketch like this, put on some cheerful Christmas music and let your brush dance with the music. If your brush is dancing, your strokes will be relaxed and much looser. Don't worry about details at all. You can always add them in, but I promise you less details and more suggestion makes a much better Christmas card.
Now you have some warm and cozy mittens to give someone special a warm hug for Christmas!
